Director, Implementation, Planning & Coordination

Support the transition to community-based Regional Aboriginal Authorities that will be responsible for the provision of services to aboriginal children and families. In the role of Director, you'll support all aspects of the planning and implementation process and be responsible for overall project management and the coordination of provincial activities.

An excellent leader with superb communication and interpersonal skills, you thrive in an environment where you can develop and maintain relationships that will serve to ensure a smooth and positive process. You are experienced at analyzing and evaluating complex issues and can effectively manage multiple projects.

You bring a university degree in a related discipline, such as social work, public or business administration and considerable progressively responsible related experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Direct experience working with Aboriginal and First Nations communities is essential.

The knowledge required for this role includes:
* Knowledge of the Aboriginal community and culture in British Columbia.
* Working knowledge of project management and work plans.
* Excellent knowledge of planning/public policy and legislation principles and processes.
* Knowledge of Government strategies and objectives related to Aboriginal issues.
Additionally, you should have knowledge of trends and developments within child and youth services, particularly aboriginal.
