Resource Worker*
(Level 7 - SGEU)

The Ministry of Corrections, Public Safety and Policing requires an enthusiastic individual to co ordinate alternative measures programming as an alternative to the judicial process for youths and adults who have committed criminal offenses.

Working out of the Buffalo Narrows office, you will travel throughout the area liaising with the RCMP, prosecutors, justice committees, and court workers to advocate and facilitate the use of alternative measures. You will recruit, supervise, and assist in the training of service providers and will facilitate victim offender mediation based processes. You will make presentations to community groups and lead community development activities intended to address service gaps. You will also collect statistical and qualitative data and participate in the ongoing evaluation of the alternative measures programming.

You will be required to travel, transport youth and adult offenders, and work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.

In order to provide better service to some of the clients and their families, the ability to speak Cree and/or Dene would be a definite asset.

*Preference will be given to qualified Aboriginal persons who self-declare in their application.

Note: This competition has been posted on our new Career Centre. Please go to www.careers.gov.sk.ca and apply online. The online application process replaces the need for a paper application or resume.
