Family Enhancement Worker - Tribal Chiefs Child & Family Services Society

The Family Enhancement Worker will be responsible for the enhancement of skills and abilities of families of the Kehewin Cree Nation and the Frog Lake First Nation in order to assist them in providing safe, stable and nurturing environments for the rearing of their children. Child Welfare Case Manager - Tribal Chiefs Child & Family Services Society

Closing date: February 4, 2005

Under the direct supervision of the Casework Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for performing the following duties:

1. Provides in consultation with the supervisor, any counselling and support services as mandated with the Child Welfare Act.

2. Receives and follows-up allegations of child abuse/neglect intakes. Ensures appropriate follow-up and review of case planning and continuous on-going assessment, in attempts to accomplish the established goals.

3. Attend case conferences and meetings/prepare required documents, including service plans and all legal court documents for Family court.

4. Where considered necessary, remove children from their parental home, thought an apprehension or custody agreements, ensuring appropriate placement.

5. Build and maintain effective relationships, including providing support and guidance to parents, guardians, caregivers, and community services.

6. Incumbent will maintain a constant state of up to date knowledge of child welfare policies, procedures, and legislation.
