May, 1996 - AMMSA's initial web site launch date.

August, 1996 - Actual AMMSA web site launch.

March, 1997 A major site overhaul completed with new graphics, pages, and content.

May 2, 1997 - AMMSA's site selected Yahoo pick of the week!

March 18, 1998 - The web site counter was reset on to coincide with AMMSA's 15th anniversary. During the preceding year in excess of 14,000 visits were registered. What is encouraging is that more and more visitors have been accesssing AMMSA's information and news. The number of visitors to the site in the month of May,1997 ­ are now visiting the AMMSA site every day, and the numbers are growing steadily.

October 15, 1998 - AMMSA's site has again reached 14,000 visits - this time in less than 7 months ( 205 days)! The counter will be reset and we'll keep you posted when we hit 14,000 visits again.

October 16, 1999 - One year after our counter was last reset and AMMSA's site has generated 49,000 visits!

November 5, 1999 - AMMSA's site selected site of day at Maple Square.

October 16, 2000 - Two years after our counter was last reset and AMMSA's site has generated 124,000 visits! That's 49,000 in the first year and 75,000 in the second year. How's that for growth?

February 16, 2001 - AMMSA's web site traffic grows to an average of 550 unique visitors a day. Pageviews are nearly 60,000 per month!

March 1, 2001 - Major navigation and search capabilities are introduced to AMMSA's web site. In addition full text articles for all publications back until 1995 are uploaded! We are working to include all full text articles published by AMMSA back until 1983!

June 30, 2001 - Web traffic is now at 5,000+ visitors per week or 22,000+ per month. Pageviews are now at 100,000 per month.

January, 2002 - AMMSA launches newest publication Ontario Birchbark and includes some selected articles online.

April, 2003 - AMMSA and Windspeaker celebrate 20 years of service!

November, 2005 - significant overhaul of the site architecture.

To develop a comprehensive site that would inform, educate and enlighten visitors of the wealth that Aboriginal people have to offer.

To maintain this site with regular updates and additional information and features on a timely basis.
