Wally Desjarlais
Radio Announcer
Wally was born in Lac La Biche, Alberta
and is considerably past the quarter-century mark (we have counted
his rings!). He frequently suffers from a nervous complex due
to the fact listeners think he is older than he actually is.
Wally lived in Edmonton until he was 11. His family then moved
to the Buffalo Lake Métis Settlement, where his mother
is from. Wally began work experience with CFWE-FM while in high
school, when the studios were located in Lac La Biche. He left
the station in 1993 to continue his education at Grant MacEwan
in Edmonton. In early 1996, Wally rejoined the CFWE Radio family.
Wally enjoys a wide variety of music, and possesses considerable
knowledge about Classic Country music. He has several current
favourite artists - Faith Hill and Shania Twain - but is especially
close to Patsy Cline. In fact he carries an image of her wherever
he goes! Wally is also known to inhabit flea markets on the weekends
("other people's junk are my treasures") and lives
for 25-cent hot dogs.
Wally hosts The Morning Show and Yesterday Once More
on CFWE-FM.

Angela Felix
Announcer
A proud Mother of two beautiful daughters, Angela was born
in Lac La Biche, Alberta and raised in Edmonton. At about the
age of four, Angela was convinced there were people living inside
the radio! This curiosity and amazement throughout her childhood
lead to the love of music and guitar.
Angela lists her favourite pastimes as (in order): cleaning,
collecting rocks, candles and burning incense. As one of the
resident "cleaners" at the station, there isn't a coffee
ring or dust bunny within 50 feet of her! Makes for a very clean
radio station.
Angela's dream of being on the radio has finally come true.
In addition to a regular on-air shift, Angela hosts the Noon
Request Program Monday to Friday and Sundown on Saturday
evenings.
Denise Miller
Cultural Liaison/Reporter
Although not a real doctor, Denise is affectionately
known as Dr. Denise primarily due to the fact she often has "solutions"
for common ailments. A ceremonial drummer, singer and storyteller,
Denise joined the crew at CFWE-FM in 2003 as Cultural Liaison.
Denise's background as a professional storyteller, who specializes
in legends and healing stories, lends itself to gathering stories.
Everyone has a story and her friendly personality encourages
those she meets to share their stories. Born in the United States,
Denise has lived most of her life in Canada, recently becoming
a Canadian citizen. Her heritage is broad, having Celtic, Cherokee
and Mohawk ancestry. Her respect for these roots, and for ALL
cultures is unwavering, evident in all her interviews.
Darcie
Roux
Host, Thunder Alley
Born and raised in Bonnyville in northern Alberta, Darcie
began his career with CFWE in 2001. After a couple of years as
an announcer, Darcie decided to explore other directions and
is now working fulltime for the Aboriginal Multi-Media Society
in the Sales and Marketing department. He still maintains contact
with Radio, although on a part-time basis, producing and hosting
Thunder Alley: A New View on Friday evenings.
Brad Crowfoot
Host, Sundown Hip Hop
Brad was born and raised in Edmonton and freely admits to
looking youthful sans humility. He joined the AMMSA family in
2000, following his father's footsteps on the Pow Wow trail and
taking photos for Windspeaker. His daytime job is currently
as an account executive for Raven's Eye, the Aboriginal
newspaper for B.C.
When asked for his passions, Brad replied fast cars and fast
girls (or perhaps girls in fast cars?) Brad became enamored with
the Hip hop culture in the mid-90's after attending his first
DMC (DJ Mixing Champion.) Brad can be heard every Saturday evening
at Sundown playing what he knows best Canadian and
Native Hip Hop.

Troy Dakus
Production & Sports
Troy became a member of the CFWE broadcast team in July 2001,
fresh out of Broadcast school. His primary responsibilities are
working in the copywriting and production department. Troy proudly
proclaims he is a Metis Status Canadian, with some family connections
in the Maritimes. Troy speaks often of his schooling years, with
fond memories of being afraid of the girls. It is a safe assumption
Troy has since gotten over this fear.
Troy has a passion for Drum music and has a strong desire
to learn more about Aboriginal culture. During the summer months,
he can often be found wandering around a Pow Wow and has recorded
numerous songs that have been added to the CFWE playlist.
A family man with two young children, Troy also enjoys the
outdoors and fishing. Troy has a passion for sports, at least
the variety where HE doesn't have to run! He
whole-heartedly believes that Hockey Night in Canada is the most
important institution in the country. He also believes that "Professional"
wrestling is real.
