Bar achiever deserves recognition

Dear Editor:

Last week one of my closest friends was admitted to the Alberta bar. This is a proud achievement for her and her family, as well as for myself. This kind of honor needs to be reported, as Wilma Jacknife is a Native woman, one of very few that have reached such heights in this profession. I feel that we need to recognize this kind of achievement as we can nearly count on one hand how many Native lawyers there are in Canada, let along Alberta. I would like to say let Wilma and others in her profession to exemplary role models to all our Native students everywhere, that through hard work and dedication success can be achieved. We are very proud of you, my friend!
