RCMP news release:

"Idle No More" Planned Event
 
St. Albert RCMP Senior Management has met with organizers of an "Idle No More" event planned to occur at the intersection of Sturgeon Road and St. Albert Trail in St. Albert, Alberta.  The Elders that are organizing this event have assured the RCMP that this will be a peaceful demonstration that will not last more than 30 minutes.  The event is planned to start at 4:00 p.m., today, January 16, 2013.
 
St. Albert RCMP, St. Albert Municipal Enforcement Section and the City of St. Albert Engineering Department have met to discuss this event and to ensure that measures are in place to ensure the safety of all concerned, - demonstrators, the motoring public, pedestrians and peace officers.
 
Motorists are encouraged to avoid the intersection St. Albert Trail, both the north and south lanes from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. and consider taking alternate routes.
