Lethbridge College mural
Lethbridge College received a $10,600 grant from the Alberta Foundation for the Arts to create a mural at the front entrance illustrating First Nations, Métis and Inuit culture. “Lethbridge College is situated on traditional Blackfoot territory and is adjacent to two First Nation reserves with growing populations,” said Robin Little Bear, FNMI manager at the college, in a news release. The college offers FNMI students a dedicated lounge and study area in the Piita Pawanii Learning Centre and access to personal, cultural, academic and career counselling from FNMI professionals. The mural is in the planning stages with the help of Elders involved in the college’s FNMI cultural support program.
