In this issue of Regional Windspeaker we take the opportunity to salute graduating students across Canada.

Whether they be graduating from high school, reserve employment programs or university, the students of today are building a better future for themselves and their people. Through their hard work, the path toward increased self-reliance among Native peoples become a closer reality.

Education is the foremost tool in our struggle to overcome social and economic constraints. Through individuals such as those featured in these pages, communities across this country are gaining in pride, strength and purpose.

To all of the women and men who have completed their studies this year, to their families and supporters, the staff at Windspeaker offer our congratulations. Your commitment to education has long-reaching effects that will be felt far beyond this summer month of celebration.
